In hotels we recommend the use of Master Key Systems, bearing in mind however that they do not cover guest rooms. Small buildings (guest houses) with no more than several rooms are an exception. In larger building both systems are usually combined in the following way:

  • guest rooms - electronic system;
  • other passageways which require access control and guest access (SPA, main entrance, conference rooms, luggage rooms, boom barriers) - electronic system;
  • administration and utility rooms which require access control and are subject to personnel rotation (food storage, linen storage, reception) - electronic system + Master Key system;
  • administration and utility rooms which require access control, but are rarely opened/closed (utility rooms, ventilation/installation stacks, main entrance /if not locked at night/, accounting) - Master Key System.
